We are often asked what sort of design work we do. As these pages will illustrate, it is a hard question to answer.

The first item of interest is that we, is me. Ross J Slade. The company, a legally limited company has one full time employee. myself. We undertake work for other companies or individuals and in situations where necessary given the scope of a project, work with other like minded professionals.

With my varied background, extensive design training and experience, projects types have been varied. All have the common need of a design problem, that needs a solution. My recent design work has been graphic and web design, but considerable time is spent on support of other designers in the use of the computer hardware and software used in design.

RJS ID Inc. is an Ottawa, Ontario-based company which was provincially incorporated in 1986. The company's President and Senior Designer is Ross J. Slade.

Projects undertaken by the company include exhibits, human factors analysis, furniture design, training videos, on screen multimedia presentations, slide shows and overhead projection presentations, illustration, graphic design (including corporate identity) and all aspects of desktop publishing.

The design principles of RJS ID Inc. are summarized in this statement:

A Designer is like an Editor. He researches, organizes and re-organizes. He collects, collates and gives form to diverse inputs, and presents the results, in a visual form, for the consideration of the client. For some designers this is an "Art", for others a "Science". Both require practice. In the final analysis, it is the ability to bring results to a mass-produced reality that fulfills the agreed-upon goals of both the Client and Designer.

Work is undertaken using the latest Macintosh hardware and software. We also work closely with a number of related firms, including Eton Systems and C.L. Lees & Associates, through which support and/or complementary services may be exchanged.
