MCdV Festa

This year the Festa was combined with the meal held in the various Piazzei on Aug 15th. A GREAT SUCCESS

International School of Art
is currently hosting its last students of this summers courses. As usual they have provided a constant stream of wonderful art that we have all seen 'in the making' and enjoyed through the many weekend shows thay have provided.

While the Spring weather was wet, , June arrived very warm, followed by a scortching July and August. September has thankfully coooled. Here in central Umbria we were not affected by the earthquake south and west of us.The ground shook briefly with a few of the after shocks but life here continues as normal. The ventures that exist, servicing the tourist industry, are having a hard time. The UK sterling does not go as far as it used to and the Americans have cut back on their travel plans.

The local hotel has closed, yet again, but the
local agriturismi are still open for business, some providing rooms in addition to meals. As I have mentioned before - if you want to stay somewhere special, look at:

The Palazzetta del Vescovo
Pallazetto web page

The building was the summer residence of Todi’s bishops, in particular Ludovico Gualtiero who hired the architect Ludovico Gattelli from Todi to build it, in 1763

The Palazzetta had their initial themed supper night on June 10th with the' Smells and Tastes of Piemonte'. Paulas wonderful cooking was accompanied by the fine wines of Giacomo Bologna'Briada' wine selections

The Bar Centrale has erected tables and Umbrella in the main square, providing some shade and comfort while sipping wine and enjoying the view and the summer bar has commenced: the La Torracia which is run by the local "Pro Locco" and provides a summer venue for drinks and entertainment.

During June and July Linde Beyhl of the
' La PIU PICCOLA GALLERIA Privata DEL MONDO '
will be having an exhibit of paintings by Giovanni Crisostomo and Umbrian photographs by PHOTOempt as part of the German town of Bad Kissengen's
KISSINGER SOMMER Internationales Musikfestival.
